Mullein Leaf, or scientifically referred to as Verbascum Thapsus, is a wildflower native to much of Europe and Asia which can grow almost anywhere. Because of its thick, soft leaves, it is also called Grandmother’s Flannel and Our Lady’s Flannel. The word Mullein is said to be derived from the Middle English word for “soft” which is moleyne which might be why it is also considered “Nature’s toilet paper”!

Mullein leaf has a long history of being used for respiratory issues, gastrointestinal bleeding, gout and other joint arthritic conditions.  Mullein is often applied to the skin for wounds, burns, hemorrhoids, bruises, frostbite, and skin infections

*Small hairs on mullein leaf may cause mechanical irritation in the mouth and throat if not filtered out of extracts prior to consumption.
