Sweetgrass Braid , also known as Holy Grass, is a long, hardy herb with a sweet vanilla-like scent and is native to Europe and North America. Many Native American tribes use Sweetgrass in sacred smudging ceremonies, and it is commonly used for smoke cleansing in the home for its pleasant aroma. It is considered a sacred plant, and the smoke from the Sweetgrass is thought to attract positive energies. This dried herb is rolled into tight braids which do not burn, but rather smolder like incense. The leaves can also be woven together to make baskets.
